Lake Forest Hospital Names Chief Nursing Officer
Kim Nagy, M.S., A.P.R.N.-C.N.S., has begun her new duties as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Lake Forest Hospital (LFH). Nagy most recently served as the hospital’s executive director of women’s services. She was promoted to this position last year to assume operational responsibilities for the new Hunter Family Center for Women's Health, which includes Maternity Services and the Posy Krehbiel Prevention and Wellness Center. Nagy received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University/Calumet. In addition, she’s an advanced practice clinical nurse specialist in adult health with a specialized focus in obstetrical nursing.

Silver Cross Hospital Names Bakken As Chief Operating Officer
Mary Bakken has joined Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL, as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. With over 25 years of healthcare experience, Bakken joins Silver Cross from Fairview Health Services Systems in Minneapolis, MN. For the past five years, she was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Fairview Southdale Hospital. Prior to her position as COO, she led the creation of Fairview Clinics and served as its Senior Vice President until 2001. She also served as the Director of Clinic Services at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis; medical technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, WI; senior consultant with Community Health Management Corporation in Skokie, IL; and a staff assistant at Arthur Anderson in Chicago performing audits for healthcare and other clients. Bakken received her Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Management School of Business and a BS degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She is also a certified public accountant.

Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center Announces New Medical Staff President
Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Joseph L. D’Silva, M.D., has been named President of the Medical Staff at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center for a two-year term. Dr. D’Silva joined the hospital’s medical staff in 1989.
